We hope you are as excited as us to get started! Your first lecture and Q&A session will be on 11th October at 10am. See you then!
LECTURES
Term 1: Tuesday 11 October - Tuesday 6 December 2022
Term 2: Tuesday 10 January - Tuesday 7 March 2023
Your lectures take place at 10am on Tuesdays and will last for approximately 2 hours. The first hour will be your lecture with your course tutor Daniel Barnett. The second hour will be a live Q&A session where you can ask Daniel any questions you have on the day’s topics.
The lectures take place on zoom and the link is the same every week: Click here.
All the lectures and Q&A sessions are recorded and will be available in the members’ area within 24 hours.

TUTORIALS
In alternate weeks (you can download the course timetable with all the dates), you will get together in a small group with our tutor John Sprack to discuss the week’s topics and work through real-life case scenarios. To get the most out of your tutorials, you should look at the case study in advance of the session.
After each session we will send out the model answers for the week so you have a comprehensive set of notes to go alongside any notes you made before and during the session.
If you haven’t already selected your tutorial group, please do so here. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. But don't worry - if you can't make any particular session, you're welcome to join a different group as a guest.
We've also set up an exclusive workroom in Slack for each tutorial group so you have somewhere to talk to each other outside of the tutorial sessions themselves.
ASSESSMENTS
There will be one written assessment in each term, sent out in week 9 and week 18, encompassing the topics that you have learnt so far.
Subject to the assessments being returned within three months of the date of the final online seminar (Tuesday 7th March), they will be returned with detailed feedback and a grade (Distinction, Merit, Pass, Fail). If you fail, you will be given the opportunity to resubmit the paper within one month. All those who pass the two written assessments will be sent a framed Certificate of Completion.
SLACK
Slack is a business instant messenger platform. You will be able to chat with your fellow delegates in a dedicated channel for VELA. We have workrooms for the different modules, it’s where you can ask questions about employment law and the course, and see what others have to say.
